Overview

Tired of messy conversations after splitting the bill and figuring out who owes what to whom? Pebble helps organize bills and payments, showing how much you owe another and how much others owe you. With simple tracking, smart settlement options, and a clean interface, Pebble makes money math less awkward and stress-free.

Problem

Splitting expenses with friends often leads to confusion, awkward conversations, and lost track of who owes what. Existing solutions feel less customizable and make it difficult to quickly see owed and paid dues.

Goals

Let users quickly gather expense information. Provide customizable options for how to split the bill. Rapidly design and build an interactive app using Base44.

Outcome

A fully interactive bill-splitting app built in 3 days using 90 AI prompts, featuring a dashboard, group management, expense tracking, and smart settlement flows.

Process: AI-Driven Development with Base44

To push Pebble beyond a standard bill-splitting app, I explored how Base44 AI could transform the development experience. Base44 provided the ability to quickly analyze expense data, predict fair settlement paths, and surface insights in plain language.

Using 90 prompts, including code error debugging and AI-assisted solutions, Pebble was formed in just 3 days. The only limitation is that for a production-ready app, the numbers would need to dynamically update across all pages rather than being statically generated.

UI & Final Design

Pebble's interface was designed to be bright and modern, with stress-free typography and rounded components. The main pages include Dashboard, Group, Profile, Add an Expense, and Settle Up.

The core interactivity is demonstrated through a sample trip called "Europe Adventure," where users can settle up, add an expense, or see how much was spent during the trip. The app is compatible on both mobile and desktop formats.
